No Tipping

After our plane landed we stayed in the airport to wait in Joey’s plane to arrive. The way the trip was booked, he ended up on a different plane to destination. The place we went to in the Australian airport called Hudsons Coffee. While there, we ordered beverages. I ordered a cappuccino and a tuna spinach sandwich which by the way was the bomb dot com. Normally I would take a picture of it for my food blog, but I was kind of hungry and couldn’t wait to sink my teeth in it. We caught the Uber to our Air BnB downtown Sydney, showered and hit the streets to get to know the area we will be living for the next couple of weeks.

We went to this restaurant about a half mile away ordered food and a drink. Surprisingly the area we are in is pretty quiet. Yea I know it is a week day but we expected it to be a little more busy during lunch. Once I paid for my meal I didn’t remember signing a receipt so after I was done I went back in and asked the guy if I did because I don’t remember tipping him. All he said back was yes, you signed the receipt, gave me a copy and we were on our way. Still bothered me that I didn’t remember tipping.

We continued our walk to Rushcutters Bay Park. It was a nice park where locals laid on the grass and read books, mothers walked with their children and ran their dogs, folks with their boats were either chillin on the water or cleaning their boats. We landed at a restaurant in the park before heading back to our air BnB to relax. Again, ordered, no tips to give. So turns out that restaurants here do not accept tips. None of the receipts print with a tip line and when trying to tip the waitress here we were told “no we don’t accept tips, we are paid well”.
